Donation Guidelines

Food, Drinks, and Other Consumable Items

For food safety and compliance reasons, Lifting Up Vegas can only accept non-perishable food and drink donations.

The Southern Nevada Health District does not allow us to serve food that has been cooked, prepared, handled, repackaged, or stored in a home kitchen or any non-commercial kitchen.

Because of this, we cannot accept:

  • Home-cooked meals or baked goods

  • Food that has been opened, repackaged, or portioned at home

  • Food that requires refrigeration or freezing

  • Food that must stay hot or cold before serving

  • Drinks that contain dairy, fresh juice, or anything requiring refrigeration

All donated consumable items must be:

  • Pre-packaged

  • Shelf-stable

  • Unopened

  • Prepared or packaged by a licensed commercial facility

  • Safe to store and serve without temperature control

This policy applies to all food, drinks, snacks, and other consumable items.

Beverages must be individually bottled or sealed and must not require refrigeration.

Examples of Accepted Food Items

Good donation options include:

  • Tuna salad kits with crackers

  • Canned chicken, tuna, or other canned meats

  • Granola bars or protein bars

  • Fruit snacks or fruit bars

  • Individually packaged cereal or oatmeal cups

  • Chips, pretzels, popcorn, Goldfish, crackers, or similar snacks

  • Shelf-stable grocery-store snacks that are not from the refrigerated or frozen section

Goods Donation Policy

We also accept donations of clothing and basic household items.

Please make sure all donated clothing is clean, washed, and packed in bags or boxes for easy transport.

We can accept gently used:

  • Clothing

  • Shoes

  • Bags or backpacks

  • Towels

  • Blankets

  • Functional household items

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. These guidelines help us protect the people we serve and keep our outreach events safe, compliant, and organized.

For questions about whether an item can be accepted, please contact us before donating.
